Creme Brulittle (2023)
For the 2023 Cardiff Quick Draw, myself along with animators Ellie Rogers and Lisa Brewis used the theme 'Mini' to produce a story surrounding a chef meticulously cooking a small creme brulee for a hedgehog. We wanted this film to have a wholesome and happy energy, despite the care and attention to detail that the chef is stressing over. ​This film was produced over 48 hours, so we focused on the story line and character design, as these were the main vehicles to tell the narrative we wanted.
Behind the Scenes
This animation was created in 48 hours, meaning the pre-production had to be as efficient and clear as possible so we could focus on the animation. Splitting up scene work helped us all work on the project simultaneously, but pushed our team to create an easily replicable character. We wanted to made a light-hearted, sweet story that had a lovely surprise at the end for comedic effect.
