Movement In Nature (2022)

For this mixed media animation, I digitally drew 250 frames, tracking the growth process of a mushroom, and used a laser plotter to cut out each of these frames, which were then placed in a set with real foliage. I used the post production process to add dust particles and warm toned lighting to create intimacy with the scenes.

Behind the Scenes

This animation combined digital 2d hand drawn animation with stop motion, acting as a proof of concept for my later film, 'Muffled Existence'. I wanted to have the control and polished look of 2D hand drawn animation, with the warmth and nostalgia of stop motion. This frames were then laser cut out, and filmed with a slider to capture an in camera zoom effect.
